Al Thomas A’s Defeat Lexington Bulldogs Behind Strong Performance From Paul Wydom

Paul Wydom was dominant on the bump, as the righty rang up 10 strikeouts in Al Thomas' 4-3 victory over Lexington Bulldogs on Tuesday. Wydom allowed seven hits and three runs over seven innings while walking four.


Lexington Bulldogs got on the board in the first inning scoring one run on a single to the outfield.


Lexington Bulldogs added two runs in the third, scoring two runs on a wild pitch, making the score 3-0.


Al Thomas tied the game in the bottom of the third thanks to a single by Wydom, a single by Matt Rothermel, and an error by the pitcher on a routine pop up.


Al Thomas took the lead in the bottom of the fourth starting with a double from YBL and ATBC rookie Tim Bement. This was Bement's first hit as a member of Al Thomas. Cam Plank would go on to single to right field, scoring Bement, to give Al Thomas A’s the lead, 4-3.


Wydom and Plank each collected two hits for Al Thomas A’s. Rothermel, Wydom, and Plank each drove in one run for Al Thomas A’s.


Al Thomas A’s welcome E.I. Braves on Tuesday for their next game.
